Shimla, May 11
The IGMC Hospital has created an additional 30-bed facility for Covid-19 patients. “Following the directions of the Central Government and the Chief Minister, we have started the facility with immediate effect. Here, critical patients will be put on oxygen,” said Dr Rahul Gupta.
“Under the current arrangement, it was not easy to provide oxygen to such patients,” he said. “At the new facility, patients will be promptly given first aid and oxygen. Once their test reports confirm infection, they will be shifted to critical or non-critical ward depending on their condition,” he added.
This ward will have piped oxygen, 10 oxygen concentrators and D-type cylinders. With this facility, the number of beds at the IGMC has gone up to 335. — TNS
