Shimla, May 9
Keeping in view the sharp surge in the number of Covid-19 cases, the government is making efforts to construct makeshift hospitals in different parts of the state. Stating this here today, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said one such hospital for corona patients was coming up at Bhangrotu in Mandi district, which was almost ready and testing process of oxygen supply was in the final stage.
Thakur said the hospital would have 90 oxygenated beds with an effective system of central oxygen supply and an ICU facility for critically ill patients. “The commissioning of this hospital will considerably reduce the pressure on the SLBS Government Medical College and Hospital, Nerchowk,” he said. He said the work had also been expedited on the construction of makeshift hospital at Khaliyar, near Mandi.— TNS
