On the occasion of International Nurses Day, Governor Bandaru Dattatreya honoured nurse Peena Sharma on behalf of the entire nursing community as per Covid-19 protocol at Raj Bhavan on Wednesday. Peena Sharma is presently working at Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital, Shimla. The Governor said efforts and dedication rendered by nurses during the pandemic are impeccable. The nurses have risked their own lives to save the lives of others. He said it was important to salute the contribution of nurses on the International Nurses Day. Remembering the dedication of Florence Nightingale, the Governor expressed gratitude towards all Corona warriors associated with this profession.
Jaypee university holds virtual fest
The Youth Club of Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT), Waknaghat, virtually held a fest, ‘Athkheliyan’, for the personality development of students and to provide them a break from their academic routine. Activities like Feet of Fire, Walk it off, and Slay off were a part of this cultural extravaganza. More than 60 students showcased their skills in innovative ways. Cultural faculty in-charge Dr Ruchi Verma and student coordinators Astha and Hiteshwar announced and congratulated the winners. More than 150 participants connected virtually for the closing ceremony to celebrate fashion, music and dance.
